Praia do Forte

Praia do Forte is locally known as the Brazilian Polynesia because it offers many options of entertainment and leisure.

In its 12 kilometers of beaches there are several tours whether you enjoy walking, or seeing the area by horseback or by jeep.

The attractions of the areabesides the beautiful sand dunes are Sítio Histórico do Castelo Garcia D´Ávila, Reserva de Sapiranga, the waters of Pojuca River, and several natural pools.

Praia do Forte's natural beauty blended with the history of Bahia makes this place one of the most sought-after places of Bahia's northern coastline. Located just 80km away from Salvador, you can get there by the beautiful and well paved Estrada do Coco.

PROJETO TAMAR Until the end of the 70's nothing to preserve sea turtles had been done. Some thirty years later, we are proud to say that Praia do Forte is the host of one of the most important turtle preservation projects in world.

PROJETO TAMAR has helped preserve and return to the waters of the Atlantic Ocean more than 22 million sea turtles since 1990. Supported by PETROBRÁS and helped by conscious tourists PROJETO TAMAR has saved hundreds of millions of sea turtles.
